Momo is Fuu's pet flying squirrel, who first appears in the prison scene and saves Fuu from getting molested. "Momo" (meaning "peach" in Japanese and also short for "momonga", meaning "flying squirrel") accompanies Fuu, Mugen, and Jin on their journey to find the "Samurai who smells of sunflowers" and inhabits in Fuu's kimono, coming out from time to time to rescue Fuu in difficult situations. Fuu asked Momo in the episode Bogus Booty if Momo was a girl or boy, saying that Momo's gender is not specified.

Appearance Edit

Momo has a mix of grey and white fur with grey in most places. Momo has a boomerang shaped mark on his/her head and has black shiny eyes, with a big tail and small feet. In the exclusive preview of Samurai Champloo episode 27 (Before season 3 was cut) Momo's transformation is displayed. When the bandits are advancing on Fuu and her life is truly in danger it happens for the first (and only) time. Momo's claws extract to extreme lengths, its eyes narrow and its fur spikes. Obviously triggered by danger this transformation is a strange development for Momo.
